LOF Riesling (@ MvG): In the bouquet coffee candy, caramel, currants, raisins and some honey. On the palate a concentrated wine with caramel, apricots, zest, honey and also good and fresh acidity. Mature and beautiful wine.

CT Texas Offline III; 11/18/2011-11/19/2011 (Galveston): Some muted tropical fruit on the nose. Rich, sweet, super-concentrated. Lots of residual sugar. Extremely sweet. Still very tasty though, in the style of a dessert wine. Figure it is low in alcohol because of how smooth and sweet this wine is, but it isn't---13% alcohol shows the wine is extremely well made, and well aged, to show this delicately. Very pleasant wine.

CT Texas III; 11/18/2011-11/21/2011 (Galveston, TX): Nice golden color. Nose of kerosene, lemon oil, golden delicious apples, asian pear, dried pineapple, apricot. On the palate, rich and full, with golden apples, yellow pear, apricot, citrus oil. Finishes with tart acidity that balances the sweetness very well. Beautiful stuff.

1997 Marcel Deiss Riesling Altenberg de Bergheim Grand Cru, Alsace, France Medium yellow in colour. Nicely complex on the nose with hints of abricot, dried fruits and hay. Medium bodied with excellent structure and definition, and sharp but ripe acid. Great long finish. Loved it. 92 points

Still in perfect shape despite the age and a faulty cork. Was expecting something more complex and actually lower in residual sugar.
