Light caramel colouration and almost nectar like nose gave me the impression that this bottle was just past its optimum drinking window. Still a very good sparkling with a fine mousse and toasty notes. Very enjoyable even though a bit on the sec side.

Deep bronze colour with fine mousse. Nose of brioche, honey and apricots. Palate is a full, honeyed chardonnay with a lingering finish. Lovely rich champagne style, reminiscent of Veuve Clicquot. This is beginning to age very nicely, and am looking forward to the rest of the case.

Darker coloured sparkling, with a moderate veast and mushroom aroma on the nose, good beads and mous. Relatively short to medium length. Not as pleasand as the previous bottles.

Allowed to breathe approx. 30 minutes before drinking. Light copper-gold colour. Slow, fine bead. Aromas of cream, white flowers, almonds, bread dough. Good mouthfeel. Medium-bodied with cream, almonds, apple, oatmeal biscuit, and a hint of citrus rind. Nice finish, ~30-40s with almond notes. Not as good as the '98, but very tasty.
