  • Drinking at its peak; fills the mouth with warm, fruit, currant and chocolate flavors. Also a nice finish. Not many straight up Cab Francs that stand up this well. Drink now.

  • Black fruit, black cherry, chocolate, vanilla, still ample tannins and a little oaken pepper spice. Definitely on the downslope - drink soon if you have any left.

  • Blackberry, plum, cassis, black tea leaf, vanilla, dark spice and slight tar. Very tasty with a rich dish. Lacking complexity. Tannins medium plus; I think this wine still could benefit from another 2 years plus.

  • Surprisingly rich and textured for a cab franc. Well integrated tannins, with hints of cherry cola Drinking beautifully right now but likely at its peak. Drink now.

  • Pop and pour. Some sediment noticeable in glass on first pour (This is bottled unfiltered/unfined), probably would have benefited from decanting and the back label recommends this as well. Inky Ruby/Purple color. Medium/Fast Legs. Berry, Oak, Soy Sauce and some Spice and Floral notes on the nose. Tastes of rich/ripe Blackberries, Blueberries and Subtle Oak. Nice Balance. Rough Texture magnified by unfiltered style. Medium Long Finish. ABV 14.9% pH 3.54

Ultimately, the unfiltered style proved to be too distracting. Were it not for that, I would have rated this 3pts higher. This is information that really should be called out on the front label and not buried in the Vintners monologue on the back label. I completely missed this fact and probably would have passed altogether on this as I am not fond of this method.
