Sweet, jammy fruit. A little disjoined. This was unimpressive on the first night. Was in the fridge for a couple days and was much better on night 3, with more savory and olive flavors and a more balanced texture.

Very nice. The Viognier reduces some of the spice of the Syrah, rounding out the wine nicely. The few years of bottle age really did wonders for this wine.

(Carina Cellars Syrah "7 Percent") Very dark red color; nice pepper, lifted, tart black fruit, tar nose; tight, tart black fruit, tar palate with grip; medium-plus finish (93% Syrah from Colson Canyon Vineyard, 7% Viognier from Stolpman Vineyard)

Good fruit, though not overwhelming. Smooth, with a touch of spice.
