Funky and weird smelling, benefiting from a few hours of air. A broad shouldered wine that's mature and young at the same time as the aromas are developed but the tannin is gripping.

(14%) 100% Negrello – This one hails from the slopes of Mt. Etna renowned for their volcanic soils. You get dark fruit on nose before it starts light and earthy on the palate with lithe tart red berry fruit on a mineral rock bed (with nice acidity) showing tea leaves before turning to a lasting dry, meaty, spicy finish. This one is clearly made with care and show focused power while remaining balanced. My first experience with Negrello this shows layers of flavor to explore and leaves you wishing for another bottle. More please!

Good. Nice earthy quality. Lighter than expected. Had a very barnyard smell...like so rhone syrah. Slight effervescence on finish I didn't expect. It grew on us as it took on air.
