  • Day number three after opening - nose remains the same but the palate has changed. Manure, barnyard, cherry, cinnamon - like a fading copy of a bordeaux wine.

  • Smells like dusty merlot, violets and patchouli, yeast cake - very clear nose here. Tingling acidity, some raspberry fruit and musty tones, light, thin style, some rough oak tannins. Okay wine, but not rebuying at 9€.

  • Ruby turns into a little brown color. Smell is almost clearly raspberry, hardly any sign of oaking. Taste: plum sirup, long lasting.

  • Sweet, fruity, spice notes as well, with some sour vegetables and a bit of leather. The fruitiness of the wine paired really nicely with the saltiness of the main course (and the jamon iberico I had as an appetizer). Mellowed everyything out so nicely that the forest and earth really shone through. Beautiful pairing!! Onions poached in butter and salt almost turned the wine into silk. That, mixed with the wine, was absolutely beautiful and luscious!! Took a pretty average wine to new heights. I'd probably give the wine an 85 on its own---perfectly fine as far as wines go, but just pleasant, nothing special. HOWEVER, paired with the dinner I ordered, it catapulted the wine much higher---say to an 87ish. Just paired so smoothly with the multitude of flavors that I simply couldn't resist drinking the entire 500ml bottle in one sitting!! Delicioso!!

  • Pie Cherry, peat and smoked meat on the nose with a creamy dark berry and fruit palate. Very well balanced.
