  • The color of this wine is totally bizarre. It's so cloudy, barely a red thing. It looks like watered down Pinot Noir with some dust added. I wouldn't call the color attractive, as it kind of looks like an algae filed wine but certainly doesn't taste like that! The nose offers very very fine gravel dust and cranberry seed. The aromas are both luscious and cutting, with awesome pure strawberry seeds. It's like chopping up dried strawberry seeds and then you inhale the dust of that. The aromas offer a beautiful texture that's so delineated and pure, elegant and fine. This smells absolutely wonderful... I could be blissfully happy just smelling this wine for hours. But luckily, that flavor totally follows onto the palate. Absolutely magnificent in the mouth. Again strawberry, but the pure, mellow soft texture is so impressive. Slightly gritty with almost Pinot like fruit, perhaps Rainier cherry, powdered dried cranberry, and an underlying light note of bright apple skin. The finish is similar with moderate to high acid for its age, and again bright red fruits. This wine makes you pay attention and when you do, you realize it's even better than you thought. The purity of fruit throughout is just stunning. It has very very light tannins on the finish, but it's mostly acid that coats the mouth. This wine is absolutely drinking at peak. If anyone has this, drink this. No wait, sell it to me so I can drink it! I am so thankful to have the opportunity to drink this at peak, and this makes me super pumped for the younger Beaujolais I have resting.

  • Dinner at Nathan's House (Nathan's House - Chicago, IL): From magnum. Interesting aromatics of earth, raspberry, plum, and wet stones. The palate was rustic and seemed to have some nicely developed secondary and tertiary flavors of herbs, stones, earth and dark fruit. I don't have a lot of experience with older Beaujolais, so this was really fun to try.

  • I love this wine. It was my second Beaujolais, after a Chiroubles and I'm a fan of this region. Really nice, light body, full flavor. Just the right balance of fruit, spice, and earth.
