Still dark and opaque. Moderate intensity nose, typical dark fruit and smoke syrah aromas. Has softened, but one dimensional. Nice, but time to drink up. Ric

very dark red, almost black - huge nose of raspberries, raspberries, raspberries (purposeful epizeuxis!) - same fruit in the mouth with a big full body with bright acidity and mature tannins - 20-30 sec finish - a beautiful example of an Aussie fruit bomb that has matured into an elegant but still very powerful syrah - compared to the 2002 Clarendon Hills Syrah tasted at the same time, less complexity but much bigger and brighter fruit

Last Tuesday Supper Club (One Penny Red, Summer Hill): Initially gamey, slightly oxidised then toast, coffee, black pepper and spiced blackberry, leather, earth. Juicy, savoury, blackberry, black pepper, black tea, softly tannic. Pleasing.
