Amazing wine with pure and focused flavors of red berries and red cherries. Quite fresh with steely structure. Balanced, and mature; round with medium to full body in the palate. Medium to long length and extremely pleasant finish. Needs one hour of decanting to breathe the small amount of Brett. A pleasant surprise from a forgotten corner of the cellar! 55% tempranillo, 25% cabernet sauvignon, 10% Syrah, 10% Merlot, 18 months in French Allier oak 80% new. Bodegas y Viñedos El Chantre, Andalucía.

Surprisingly good. Extra down time compared to 2010 helped smooth the tannins. Full bodied with deep, dark fruits, some mild vegetal notes but balanced. Some level of complexity and structure is evident, but the dark fruits prevail. Pleasant finish. Good value at $20.
