  Pearl of Burgundy gala dinner: Similar to the 1997 Bollinger LGA but more complexity instead of just being one-dimensionally oxidative. A little understated so couldn't discern much at the end of the tasting.

  SAC: 2002 Retrospective: One of the ones I was really excited about. Love this producer. Wasn't disappointed. This is a straight up quality wine.

  not blind
  In good shape, powerful, balanced, not too oxidative. After that the Krug 2002 shows more elegance but a great wine for food. No hurry to drink it. 94-95

  7 hours upon opening serving into Zalto Burgundy glass (“Root” day): Medium golden to the eyes.
  
  Mature stone fruits like apricots, florals and spices.
  
  Superbly well integrated.
  
  94-95 points.
