  • Very pretty. Still some life in this, with lovely red fruits, cherries, some forest floor. Drink now.

  • Dinner with Herald & Teni (Our House, Hong Kong): Semi-opaque ruby colour. Nose is very beguiling...quite rich loam and sous-bois that dominates over the fruit....gosh, quite mesmerising. Palate is moderate acidity on initial attack, very warmly rounded, pebbly minerals, medium red-berried fruits, good Asian spice on the back end. Lovely length and resonance with tannins that got more powdered with extended time in the glass. Nice semi-mature tension between primary fruit and secondary sous-bois etc. Got progressively better with 2-3 hours in the glass but then died. On balance, I think this is probably near best.

  • Floral on the nose with hints of red berries. Light in colour, exceptionally long and complex on a high toned palate. Secondary aromas but little by way of sous bois or mushrooms. Ethereal. Unlikely to improve further but will remain this good for some time

  • Straight from the bottle this wine has a nose of sour tart cherries. Warm fruit and gentle oak and marzipan. The palate has full and concentrated fruit and gives me much more than the nose initially.
The bottle went straight on to the decanter and it started opening up nicely during the next hour. The nose changed into violets and floral notes, and into tomato sauce. This is good stuff! The palate also twists and turns around itself and yields lots of fruit and power. But there is something unfulfilled in here. The discussion around the table is wheather the wine has reached its peak, or if it is just going into a dumb phase, or if the vintage just doesn’t have enough stuffing and fruit in general. Concensus is not reached. Anyway the wine is wonderful.

  • Pure, feminine, some spices, bright red fruits, smoky, creamy. Light and transparent. Cannot resist.
