As usually happens with a holiday dinner ( Yom Kippur ) I turn to the wines of Domaine Zind Humbrecht. Which grape? Which vineyard? Which vintage? There's so much to choose from, such a daunting task but I'm up to the challenge! Showing less Gewurz typicity than a bottle a few months back with more of a Hengst terroir imprint. The rough edges of Hengst ( and of Gewurz in general ) have smoothed out some and the sweetness is round but not overtly sweet Hengst power in full force. Not quite as good as a bottle earlier this year but still quite delicious. Should drink well for another 5+ years based on this bottle but longer based on the previous bottle. 12+13+8+8=91

Drank at the big Zind Humbrecht dinner at home ( with Olivier in attendance! ) The double pour of the second course.
