Musique & Vin Festival BYO Dinner (Château de Meursault): Small glass. Dense apple and pear, clearly rich and every more clearly bright and powerful. Good now with upside. Served slightly too warm, which shows this wine's excellence because it makes every flaw more apparent.

Ouvert 15 minutes puis dégusté sur des tagliatelles à la truffe noire, une belle alliance qui m’a été suggérée par un sommelier. Belle robe or clair, nez d’abord réticent puis se livrant sur des notes de pommes rouges, de citron et de fleurs blanches. Au palais, l’attaque est tranchante, l’acidité bien présente qui équilibre le gras naissant, la finale est longue et se termine sur des notes presque salines. Un très beau vin qui a encore de belles années devant lui.

This was fresher than my previous bottle, but still failed to live up to expectations; it seemed to be in a liminal phase that neither offered the freshness of youth nor the richness and complexity of maturity. It did show some tertiary development, with notes of ginger and honey, and was very drinkable, but offered no real excitement.

I enjoyed this, and wouldn't say it was premoxed, but definitely felt a little bit past peak and almost like a white Hermitage: tasty notes of apple, honey and quince, some creaminess, and a nice mouthfeel, but lacked structure and certainly didn't 'wow'.
