Upon opening there was a red fruit, plum and bacon sort of nose. Wonderful cranberry, tart cherry and ripe raspberry thing going on in the palette along with noticeable tannins which suggested this wine had a lot of life ahead of it. All this balanced by a cold Sonoma Coast acidity. A lot of interesting things going on here. This wine is definitely aging gracefully.
Enjoyed over 4 hours while watching the ND game. My experience mirrored Parker’s as it initially showed notes of sour cherries, damp earth and mushrooms, but with air the nose showed more dark fruits and loamy earth. A really good wine that had good acidity but with also great feel and weight.
First bottle I bought of Jamie's wine when I met him in 2009. Has held up well. Appearance is inline with what you'd expect from an almost seven year old CA Pinot. Cherry red, with aromatics to match. Extremely soft tannins, with medium/low acidity. More cherry on the palate with a medium finish.
Opened by LostVerse at the Pork and Pinot offline. Only the 3rd Kutch I've tried and liked all of them. This had a creamy texture and a fuller body. The tannins were still pronounced but approachable in this wine. Notes of taosted oak, cinnamon and a touch of scotch whiskey. 92 points.
