- Brick color with medium forming legs. It's balanced and has flavours of black pepper, black currant and prune with a medium/full body. Round texture with a medium finish - Has held up well. Rounded tannins, long finish. Significant fruit. Medium heavy sediment decanted off. Opened more after an hour.
Decanted off a bit of sediment, and poured. Medium cherry color with some brick mixed in. Nose is slight, but shows black pepper, roasted meat, and cherries. Brisk on the palate as plum and tobacco flavors join in, over a bed of still-firm acidity. This wine is still quite lively, with a pleasant, medium-bodied texture. Finishes nicely if a bit quickly with orange peel and juicy acid grip ahead of very low tannins. This wine has stood up well. Not tremendously complicated, and I think I'm one of the few who kept it this long, but it's still worth drinking. Note that 87 = very good.
