Color shows some age, still bright though. Striking secondary and tertiary aromas from the first moment. The same on the palate, this is inside its preferred plateau and is offering a lot for those lucky enough to have some. For my palate, the time is now, though I doubt the wheels will fall off anytime soon, either. Sweet meets savory, with plenty of soil inflections, dried herbs and leathery goodness. Best to decant for sediment; allow 30 minutes or so, too, for it to 'wake up'. A joy. recommended
Served non-blind.

Pop and poured. Despite the red brick color this wine is drinking very well right now. Tannins, fruit, and acidity are all well integrated. Drink now.

Montreal BDM 1999 Tasting @ Christophe(wineSpec Montreal forumites) (Chez Christophe, Montreal, Canada): Spicy, caramel nose with blackcherry, blackberries , smoke and red plums. Vibrant acidity on the palate but very well made and nice texture in the mouth. Long nice finish and it is slowly opening up. Will be even better in 5 years.
