Didn't take notes, but there were two major flavours: it was like sucking on both a lemon and a stone at the same time. Not much complexity, but it was the intensity provided by the well integrated acidity and minerality that really gave this wine 'pop' and a long finish. Didn't have the richness or funky flavours usually found in most Savennieres, but a lovely wine nonetheless. Not a hint of oxidation either (A-)!
At last a Baumard that isn't premoxed. Honey and lemon aromas, with a mouthful of the same, plus buttery notes of lime and melon. Quite a long, fresh finish. Still not up to the high standards of the late 90s, but much better than other bottles from the 00-03 era.
Lovely typical nose of truffles, herbs and mushrooms. Not as much as 1996 but still very typical. The nose leaps from the glass and you would expect a heavy wine, but it is quite the contrary. Extremely clean and fresh at entry. Medium body with excellent balance. Cream with cut glass on top! Veeery long.
