Not much experience with malbecs but I really enjoyed this wine. I almost finished it in one day, just couldn't put the bottle down. The nose was average with the usual berries here and there. The taste was quite good with nice tannins and a hint of bitterness (grapefruit)

I remember why I stopped drinking Argentine Malbec... Overoaked, vanilla cookie cutter flavors. Too big and fruity... No. There is some balance underneath and good acidity, but this is beyond generic and the wood has done too much damage. Fake cork, so I don't this will ever overcome the oak. Pass. Argentina should look what happened to sales of Aussie Shiraz...

To me this wine is like many Argentinian Malbecs: it tries to do too much. Really strong, overwhelming smell of alcohol on the nose, not surprising since this clocks in at 14%. Attractive dark purple color. Medium body, some fruit, good acidity, but the balance is thrown off by the alcohol. I think this wine is overly extracted. Not bad, really, but you would do much better with a good Cahors.

Must have bee too old. Cloudy, tart and basically not good.

Quality wines of Spain Imports (MK, Chicago IL): nose: more dark profile with black fruits, black cherries, dark red fruits, and some black currants
taste: full bodied with good rich tannins and tones of dark red fruits, black fruits, black cherries and some dark berry tones
overall: a quality malbec. Full bodied and on the darker side of the spectrum, this comes off as perfect for steak and other meats
