Gang of 4 Sweet Lake Farewell tasting (@ RW): Beautiful and expressive bouquet with garrigue, red and dark berries, some sweet licorice root and sweet chocolate. Very tempting nose. Same on the palate, licorice, ripe tannin and good acidity, a bit meaty, cherry bonbon and cedar. Elegant wine with a good length.

Not as good as a year before. Color and nose fine but on the palate not as strong and powerful than 12 months before - a bit fragile. Still very good but I would not wait any longer…

This was my last of 12 bottles. After 15 years you taste definitely too much heat/alcohol (15% declared on the back label). Nonetheless I appreciated the wine a lot.

This is consistently fine C9P. Quite a lot of sediment. The fruit has almost gone now. With 15 % ABV that is now very present, the character has changed a bit (too hot).

(Domaine La Barroche Signature Chateauneuf du Pape) #3; VaynerPAZZZ; COLOR-medium/dark; NOSE-a hint of petrol; an aggressive tannic; a little ham; gamey; not feeling this; PALATE-good firm tannins; a little heat on the back-end; kind of awkward and disjointed on the finish; none of the typical strawberry and pepper you typically get from Grenache; GUESS-$23; JR-93; RP-92; WS-92; GV-83
(Barroche Signature Chateauneuf du Pape) #3; VaynerPAZZZ (based on QPR); COLOR-medium; NOSE-quite tight; a tad of dark black plum on the back-end; PALATE-good, but a little disjointed; a little one dimensional as well; I like the intensity of this wine; these '07 CdP are really lean and focused; some good black fruit and pepper, but not as complex; big wine; WS-92; GV-90
