Dunkelbraun, als wäre er 50 Jahre alt. Dicke Kirchenfenster in öliger Textur.

Strawberry on the nose. On the palate, cherry, strawberry, and notes of plum, leather, and savory herbs, with light tannins and well-balanced acidity. This shows more elegance than power, and tertiary notes are starting to appear. This has a few years left, but it isn't going to improve from here. It was an excellent value at about $40 when it was released.

Enjoyed this 2004 with a rare to medium rare petite bison filet w/ sauteed/reduced mushrooms (potato and carrots too). This wine exhibited notes typical of older Brunello's; specifically what we noted was subtle, dried rose intermixed with a cherry hint (dried). The acidity was moderate and finished with a silky tannic pleasantry. Lamentably, this was our last bottle.

Quite different than a recent bottle. Tannic! with some fruit hiding. This does not seem tired or fading but the tannins have won the battle of time.

A previous bottle was very unimpressive, but this seems much better.
Surprisingly lighter in body, nice berry and strawberry fruit with spices. A bit short on the finish. Expecting a bit more.
