| Tasted by isaacjamesbaker on 6/17/2009: popped this with doug and some sandwiches. medium purple color with medium viscosity. on the nose this has lots of rasberry jam with some floral, raisin and liquer aromas. good acid on the palate, medium bodied. shows rasberries through and through with some pepper. also a good amount of vanilla and toasty oak, but it doesn't overwhelm the fruit. black pepper on the finish. really good qpr for $9. VINEYARD WINE SHOP CLUB NOTES: A fantastic red wine from South Australia. The addition of a small amount of white Viognier to the red Shiraz gives the wine added complexity on the palate, a hint of flowers on the nose, and (though it may seem counterintuitive) a deeper, richer color. The wine's full fruit and spice make it a great apeitif and a lovely mate to lamb and beef dishes. WINE LABEL: Shiraz 94%, Viognier 6%. The partnering of Shiraz and viognier is a proven synergy, expressing the complexity of Shiraz with the aromatics and subtlety of Viognier.
