  • FLORAL NOSE WITH BLACK CHERRIES, LICORICE, CEDAR, AND EARTHINESS. TART CHERRIES, CRANBERRIES, AND BLACKBERRIES IN THE FLAVOR.NICE COMPLEXITY AND A MEDIUM LENGTH FINISH.

  • This has aged nicely in the sense that it has mellowed rather than evolved. Floral, cedar and red fruit aromas. Maybe more of the Grenache and stem inclusion showing than the feral side of the Mourvedre. Medium weight and medium acidity, seamless transition from the attack, mid-palate and finish. No heat. The finish shows well-integrated oak (R. felt this was more than she liked) and spice, and lasts for quite some time. Elegantly styled, especially for the region.

  • Last tasted 10 months ago; similar but slightly less intense -- improved on a cold PnP and developed positively until hitting peak at 2+ hours.
50% Grenache 50% Mourvedre; 14.3% alcohol -- all Denner Vineyard fruit.

Color: light/medium ruby core -> diffuse light ruby rim with just the barest touch of garnet. Alluring bouquet of black cherries, damp earth, violets and sandalwood. This is showing tremendously well; tannins are completely resolved and the palate shows a succulent complexity that makes you want to quaff this without reflecting on its inherent quality and complexity. Black cherry fruit, smoke and forest floor along with a pumped-up midpalate and long finish provide for a compelling wine. Mourvedre shines here but the Grenache keeps it lithe and lively contributing wonderful acidity and high-toned fruit. Superbly balanced, this is for drinking now and well into the future. Love it!

  • Opened within 30 minutes. Still bright with dried cherry notes and a hint of spicness, the tannins have turned slightly earthy/dusty. Enjoyable. There's enough vibrancy that there's still some time to drink - though I wouldn't wait too long!
