PSUSteve nailed the notes and score. My bottle was a 750 and the cork fought all the way until it was out. Initially, it seemed a little muted with nice notes on the mouthfeel as well as the finish but not a lingering mid palate. That changed as the wine got air. My only bottle and I loved it. Wish I had more. Great way to start 2021.

Decanted from a magnum and needed at least two hours. Prior to that the finish was a wall of lip puckering tannins. With time the fruit (a mix of red and black primarily cherry) showed itself along side of some chocolate and oak. This was a deep deep purple with lots of glycerin. If you have a mag, I would give it at least 5 years and it will probably be fine for many more.

Decanted for 1 1/2 hours and poured back in bottle, taken to restaurant where it was opened and allowed to sit for another hour before being poured and drank. WOW! This was absolutely the most viscous, dark, brooding, complex thing I've drank in a long, long time. It's just got everything one would expect from Bob Foley and more as it still needs at least another year and probably 2 or 3 to completely come together as harmoniously as I think it will. Black fruits, casis, smoke, chocolate, some oaky vanillin, some tart cherries thrown in to wake up the palate, glycerin like mouth coating texture and a finish that gets even more complex than the attack or mid-palate. I like it a lot!

Blind California Cult Cabernet Tasting (Mill Creek, WA): Tasted blind. Another Wow wine for me! Just huge ultra-ripe cherry flavors with some nice mixed berry flavors and caramel mixed in there. This is the Foley style that I am a fan of – not like the 02 Pride Reserve that had a lot of VA earlier in the tasting. I really loved this wine - a clear favorite of the flight. Would have loved to have tasted this one in the previous flight next to the 05 Harlan and 05 Screaming Eagle... No wonder you have to enter a lottery of the mailing list members just to purchase a bottle of this. It's really amazing! I have not always been a big fan of Howell Mountain wines, but there was not a trace of the loamy-like flavors that I sometimes find off putting in Howell Mountain wines.
