Easter Dinner with Great Wine (New York, NY): Caramel apple with candied orange peel. Sweet, but not too sweet, and still displaying plenty of energy. Very good balance and good length.

Fully mature and very smooth with lovely flavors of tropical fruits and flowers. The viscosity here has softened leaving a wonderful medium-sweet Yquem that flows over the tongue like liquid golden silk. The finish is complex with a note of sweet rose that is beguiling.

Dark mahogany color. Classic aged Yquem flavors of orange peel, caramel and minerals with medium sweetness and good but not great acidity. Doesn't quite have the verve of the '67 tasted earlier this week but still delicious and quite complex on the finish with notes of brown sugar and clove spice.

Hugh’s bottle. Orange brown. Nose is dominated by notes of burnt brown sugar. Surprisingly fine on the palate, though. Sweet and reasonably fresh. Fine but not great.

Wow, this is a seriously great d'Yquem. Very dark color. A kaleidoscope of flavors in that way that only old Yquem can do. Wine of the year so far for me. Not sure how I haven't had this vintage, nor have I heard of folks talking about it.
