This is a fine simple, pizza wine. It doesn't have much in common with is big brother, but it is a pleasant beverage. I bet, however, that there are better value CdRs out there. The nose shows some funk, cherry, and dried herbs. The palate is fruit forward with only a bit of structure. The palate is monolithic but sweet and fairly long.
Clear light cherry; good aromas of cherry, leather and butterscotch; more butterscotch and bitter cherry/cherry pits on the palate with a slightly bitter chemical note; good acidity but low tannin and a bit lean overall; better with food; average to poor QPR at the exhorbitant (relative to US) price in BC.
$8.99 retail, on sale. This is a nice, honest, simple little red, with bright red fruit and good acidity. Designed for early drinking, it's a pretty solid value for under ten $ and it's certainly as good as most intro-level Cotes du Rhones. That said, IMO, it's not such a value at the $15-18 price for which I've seen it selling...
