Interesting wine. Ruby red w/ some brownish tone. Nose: vanilla, cedar, a bit of alcohol, prunes, dark chocolate, some sweet baking smell. On the palate: very long finish with soft tannins and pronounced acidity. Not a lot of fruit; some sour/tart cranberries give way to some spice/peppers and earthy tones. The nose is very nice and complex; past its peak?

PnP with some spicy chicken wings tonite. From Prod website: composed of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Gamay and Syrah. Clear, medium ruby red, gently fading to the rim. On the nose, this wine is has a medium intensity bouquet, showing notes of wet soil and a little barnyard initially, quickly followed by plums, and a bit of a vegetal smell. On the palate, this Canadian meritage is medium in body, with fine, med- firm tannins, med+ acidity, with nicely slightly underripe black cherry and plum fruit, and a bit of wet soil or tar leading into the med+, minerally finish. Goes nicely with spicy food tonite, and actually a better wine than I was expecting.

Dried herb, leather, mineral, meat, and currant nose. Medium-full, rounding and balanced palate; good flavours and finish.
