Decanted for 1 hour. Deep red/black with some browning at the meniscus. Nose shows a little earthiness, sous bois, creosote, funk with plummy red fruits. Deep palate, better than the nose, shows a lovely velvety texture and sour cherry fruit. Light tannins on the long finish.
Update after being open for 3 hours. The funk somewhat blew off but I think this wine is a bit flawed by too much new oak. It has a funky, piney, resin-infused element that I attribute to high toast new oak.

Surprisingly even deep ruby throughout. Promising, forward aromas of black cherry and soil. Then in the mouth, hollow and dry to start. This quickly perked up to show a lighter weight wine with a strong soil base and rather simple dark red fruit with minimal green notes, but the palate never caught up to the nose. Short finish. Unimpressive. My notes in 2019 and 2021 were more enthusiastic-past prime? Shouldn't be but sure seems that way.

Some browning. Red fruit, but the structural elements dominate. A bit too rough to be elegant, but also slightly less spicy than I have learnt to expect from Côte de Nuits. Maybe I'm a bit too tough on this, given that one expects a lot from Les St. Georges itself. However, I think this may habe been better two-three years ago. I suspect it won't have the fruit to deliver a long life in elegance.

Rustic, but lighter than usual - 2007 so no surprise - Saints Georges. The Chevillon style is present.
