C: Yellow, dark hay, golden on the edges N: Nuts, tangerines, butter P: More muted than on the nose, quite minerally, tangerines, grapes, grape seeds, nice high acidity, mouth coating. Long finish, a bit oaky tartness, some sour apple O: Quite oaky, not sure if the fruit carries it well enough. But decent flavours and good acidity. Good mouthfeel, smooth until the suddenly tart finish

Popped and poured. Medium golden colour. On the nose; pineapple juice, orchard fruits and spices – hadn’t it been for the tell tale buttery, vanilla-toffee notes I would probably have guessed Riesling. On the palate; more pineapple juice – rich and creamy, but backed up by lots of refreshing acidity. Good concentration and length. Lacks the depth and finesse to compete with the Kistler consumed last weekend, but is nevertheless another fine example of a US Chardonnay that’s generous without compromising on structure.

Vanilla, apple pie (mostly pie crust), and delicate apple and lemon aroma on the nose. Warm crushed rocks mixes with the fruit on the palate. The mouth feel is quite rich, but not hot. Beautiful Cali chard at this price point. This Chardonnay has more minerality than Schug Carneros Chardonnay (Which is a fruitier style).

- Light gold color.
Good Chardonnay, classic oak taste, but over-acidic finish dropped the points.
