15.1% alcohol. Served blind. Dark red color. Quite ripe in this blind showing. Somewhat jammy on the nose, with spicy notes in the background. In the mouth, the acidity of the wine and the back-end tannin really help in keeping it from being flabby, but this bottle still shows a bit ripe on the palate. B+

15.1% alc...I was actually shocked to read the alcohol, not a "normal" Swan sighting at that %...nonetheless, popped and poured...the nose is very dark black fruits, ripe, bit of heat, simple and one dimensional nose at this point...very texturally driven palate, viscous, medium-full but closer to full, again the heat pokes through without enough fruit and other nuance to overpower the alcohol...my initial impression is that this is a failure, at least to my palate, will give it a bit to open up and get some food on a plate...never really developed into anything more. Disappointed.

15.1% alcohol. This is in a really pretty place right now, so it was nice to just sit back with a bottle and enjoy its dark fruit and spiciness. Ideal with pizza, but it really will pair terrifically with a range of foods because of its excellent balance of fruit, acidity, and refined tannins. A-

15.1% alcohol. Served blind. Opened two hours before serving but not decanted. Holding steadily from where it was last year. A lot of drinkers commented that it was like a spicy Zinfandel and had a more mature sort of color. Lots of guesses for 2001 or 2002. Beautiful, dusty fruit nose with plenty of spice. In the mouth, lively and full of bright fruit, with strong acidity, and a tannic but still refined finish. A-

15.1% alcohol. This seems like it's a more mature, spicy Zinfandel. It's terrific. Very dark purple-red color. Lovely nose of black fruit, spice, and minerals. In the mouth, it's just ripe and fruity, although still with plenty of tannic structure that you expect from this grape. An approachable, delicious wine. A-
