Reminiscent of the 2008 Albane & Bertrand Minchin Valençay VDQS Le Claux Delorme I drank recently, but marginally better. This is a well made, interesting wine, which shows a pleasant floral, garrigue, and mineral bouquet, solid structure and minerality, great acid, good depth and strong finish. Drank it over two days and it was at least as good on the second day. This wine is still going strong and tastes every bit as good a say a Monopole Premier Cru Cote de Beaune from a good vintage. I have had far worse actual Burgundies which cost a lot more. Overall, I am impressed, but I paid only $13. At retail, it's still a reasonable value.

Excellent. First I've had of Charly's wine and it is fresh, mineral and determined. I'll follow this in future even if it is a bit pricey. Drinks now, but should improve for a bit and hold for 5 or so.

I second drwine's tasting note. Solid but think there is better quality at the same price.

An Exploration of Great Beaujolais Domains In Situ; 3/29/2011-4/1/2011 (Villie-Morgon, France and environs): First vintage produced and a lovely effort which I preferred to the 2 most recent vintages. Supple, lively acid, completely enjoyable now in a lighter, more refreshing style. Quite a promising first effort. Maybe even better than the '07 Metras Fleurie we had at lunch the same day.
