Level, capsule and cork all in perfect condition. But the wine is just as undrinkable as the previous bottle, although perhaps not quite as overwhelmingly intensely wrecked by the woody chemicals. And 24 hours after opening the nose was not quite as offensive, but no change on the palate. Just to make sure that I was not suffering from brett aversion, I gave a glass to two weekend guests, who had similar reactions to my own. Very badly tainted by wood treatment of beams or other woodwork in the winery prior to bottling. Comprehensively nasty.

Probably the nastiest bottle of burgundy I have ever opened. Very clear medium colour. Nose initially farmyard, then sharpening into strong wood chemicals as glass is swirled. Taste is of disgustingly intense woody chemicals, very strong and with no prospect of improvement. Yuk.

Smooth, rich, farmyardy, fragrant wine - mellow - but not much pinot character - could have been from the Rhone

Beautiful and balanced, this is not your typical '94 - has tell-tale Dujac-character.
