Slow-oxed over 15h, then decanted. Stil dark colour, very intense nose, ark berries, plums, forest floor. On the palate still primary fruit: black berries and again plum, some nice secondary flavours: leather and earth, ripe and very silky tannins. Seems to be in the middle of it's best drinking window. Best with food, we had an south-italian style lamb with lemon-sauce.
Much, much better than the bottle I had one year ago - bottle variation ? Spices, leather, red fruit on the nose. Old world style, very refined tannins, balanced, structured and good acidity. Medium finish. In the sweet spot of its drinking window. Best with food.
Aerated with a Vinturi and decanted for one hour. Aromas of black cherry, red licorice, tobacco, chocolate, toffee and dried herbs. Cherry, coffee, cocoa, spice and soft tannins on the palate. Leads to a medium to long, soft, smooth finish. Medium to full bodied. Paired with Tuscan bread soup.
