Decanted 1/2 hour, opened up wonderfully after the next two. Great acidity still after 12 years. Forest floor on the nose, high alcohol levels covering up other less dominant characteristicsl. Palate is super chocolaty, love it. No heat on the wine, even as dominant as it is on the nose. Fruit is fading somewhat, but still noticeable dark cherry, and blackberry fruits. I need to acquire some more bottles!

Violets, plums, blackberry, very rustic on the palate. Touch astringent. This is a monster of licorice and anise.
