Pale ruby. Wild strawberry, crunchy red fruit, crushed flower, and sous bois. Quite fragrant and open knit. A wine of finesse with fresh acidity and soft, elegant tannins. Finishes with sweet red fruit. Two years since my last bottle and the 2007 Bonnes Mares has found balance, taking a surprising turn toward elegance. Great now through 2030.

Decanted. Minimal sediment. Best when slightly above cellar temp. Really opened up at 30 minutes. Strawberry and red fruit, menthol, herbs and spices. Great balance and weight on the palate. Smooth and semi-long finish. My first Bonnes Mares and will not be my last.

A large-scale wine and full-on Bonnes Mares, with red fruit, menthol, and wild flower. Medium weight flavors of red fruit and spice are carried by significant dry extract. Mouth-coating but elegant tannins. Finishes sweet. The 2007 Bonnes Mares is very good but demands patience. Drink starting 2021.

Tasted dark deep and inelegant despite the rave ratings.

Crushed strawberry, cherry. Sous bois and mint character. Savory tarragon element. Elegant, effusive nose.
