Somewhat lighter ruby color. Pretty cut of cherry on the nose with red spices. This is somewhat muted and hidden but wih some coaxing and air I find the lovely medicinal cherry fruit and classic iron minerals of Rousseau's CSJ. Lighter-bodied and definitely lacks the richness and depth of better vintages but the wine is elegant and the finish finely complex with cherry spice and mineral notes. A lovely wine but still a shadow of what this wine can be in better vintages. I wonder if I'm just catching it at the wrong time. 90?
Raid Len's Cellar #3: Stem, cherry, rose and smoke. Tannins are present on the palate, but they are fine and balance nicely with the youthful fruit. Continues to track nicely for development over the medium term.
Drank over 4 hours. Lovely red fruit and some floral notes on the nose. More red fruit and a touch a dark/blue fruit on the palate. Nice mineral notes and great spice with just a bit of stems. Easy, forward and not very powerful, but sweet a nuanced. Medium++ finish. Great now and will improve.
This wine showed great tonight. Took about 2 hours to open. Was full of variety of crushed red fruits, ever-so-light texture. Oak is not prominent and deftly integrated. Nothing is out of place. Can't imagine that this will be more enjoyable with more age, but certainly has a long time left and will show more complexity.
