PnP. Medium dark red. Sauvage nose of spice and iron - more Gevrey than Volnay, though Lafon always makes a huge wine from this vineyard. Initially quite tight on the palate though with intense flavors; as for the previous bottle this does smooth out with air, although this bottle is not as fine as the previous. Long intense finish.
David mentions "dimethyl sulfide", and while I'm not sure what that is exactly, there was clearly something wrong with this bottle. Lacking fruit, thin, metallic, volatile, aggressively unpleasant. Dumped.
