Popped, splash decanted and enjoyed over 45 minutes. Another '07 Volnay that is simply in an incredible spot at the moment. Soaring, deep nose of red cherry, spice and herbs. The palate has terrific roundness, plushness and concentration while staying so lively. Similar to the nose, there is a generous and beguiling depth. So pretty right now.

Drank side by side 07 Taillepieds in The Kitchen in Grand Lisboa in Macau. It is riper than the Taillepieds. Sweet red fruit and citrus on the nose and the palate. I prefer the Taillepieds as it is more balanced with minerals, and it also has a bit of that volnay rusticity that reflects the terrior. Still a very good volnay especially for a 07. Its drinking at peak now.

Purchased off the wine list at Brennan's. Ruby hue. Healthy nose of dark cherry, raspberry, cinnamon, iodine, alpine flowers, and a hint of porcini. Beginning to develop more complexity on the palate with layers of red raspberry, mulberry, black cherry, iron, briar, and earth. Bright acidity and firm tannin leading to a longer finish of sharp red fruit amidst tart grip and stone. A lovely drink paired with pork loin. Classic Volnay with room to improve.

drinking at its peak. Just a bit light weight, but the fruit and palate is gorgeous.
