  Vosne or Volnay?: More closed than the previous bottles that I have tried before but had the trademark elegance of the producer which made me guess Vosne on this. Otherwise similar impressions to my previous bottles.

  Clean and lightly floral nose, captivating and elegant. Seamless on the palate, poise, elegant, detailed, silky, pure, and almost aloof. Displaying both Volnay and Angerville characteristics at the same time, very nice, Angerville clearly hit out of ball park in this vintage. Just imagine how delicious Clos des Ducs and Taillepieds must be in ‘07……Looking at secondary markets and Critics low scores across all vintages, I am beginning to think this is an insider’s wine.

  Volnay theme: Consistent with the previous showing. Brilliantly seductive nose that only the best producers can manage with a hint of VA, the palate showed the best depth and balance out of all the wines. Ready to go and unanimous wine of the night I think.

  Chambolle / Volnay: More earth and soy on the nose compared to the 2010, and showing more development. Nonetheless, clearly cut from the same cloth albeit in a more approachable, open-knit manner. Probably a function of both the vintage and the plots which this is drawn from.
