  • Allen Meadows (burghound.com) - 88-91
(from 90 to 100 year old vines). First Quarter, 2009 - A ripe but somber nose of dark berry fruit, earth and crushed dried leaves complements the rich, full-bodied and mouth coating flavors blessed with ample amounts of dry extract and even better length. This is not an elegant Chambolle but the mid-palate density is impressive as is the persistence. 2013+

  • 2 hrs decant and it's really singing. Young Chambolle with a capital C.
Loads of deep, dark, red scented fruit, anise, touch of vanilla and sweet, polished tannins.
Still somewhat backward and will probably merit from 2-4 yrs in the cellar.
If You like young burgundy, this is no bad place to search.
If its worth the rather high pricetag is another thing, but it sure is charming!
