Opened for 5 hours in bottle before pour. The 2007 Thibault Liger-Belair Clos Vougeot is ruby red in colour with a slightly garnet rim. On the nose, the bouquet expresses coffee, milk chocolate above its red fruit aromas of crushed raspberries and juicy red currants. On the palate, a gentle entry before slowly approaching its bouquet characteristics of red currants, sour red cherries, a very slight cocoa, a little herbs & spice, and ending on a brilliant acidity alongside fine powdery tannins. With aspects of alcohol, acidity and flavours well integrated, this seemingly simple wine boasts of refined elegance and depth.
Burgundy Dinner: Very international nose, masses of vanilla oak. Smooth, glossy, well textured wine, quite tannic (far more than I've had in any other 07) but showing lots of primary fruit. High quality wine making, but a very modern style in a quite obvious way.
