  • Fully ready, deep nose of dark fruit. Gun-powder with a (positive) earthy aroma. Violets add complexity. Quite multilayered and full. Even some tar and blackberry notes.
Fullish, still quite tannic and tight palate, but no problem drinking this today. Good concentration. Zesty bitterness and good grip. Some gun-powder oakiness. Only lacking a bit of finish, for higher marks.
A very good representation for my impression of an Echezeaux. Full, earthy and dark, but also a bit rough and robust, especially compared to the smoother Suchot tasted at the same time.
