  • 91-no formal notes taken but enjoy this wine and the winery's style alot. Big grapefruit backbone with grassy hints throughout--have to enjoy "acid" to enjoy these wines (my wife does not)--but for me it's a winner.

  • PnP. Light translucent straw color. Much more typical SB nose this time around, with grassy, herbal, and lemony notes. The prior bottle I had about a year ago had these notes way in the background at that time, but they are much more pronounced now. The aged Gewurtz nose is picking up some petrol also. On the palate, still nice and smooth on entry, with some nice acidity still. Finishes with a nice grapefruit flavor. This was the perfect accompaniment to seared scallops with risotto. The acidity of the wine balanced the rich creaminess of the risotto very nicely.

I would say that I enjoyed this much better a year ago, but its still nice now. I would drink up though.

Enjoyed in a Riedel Vinum Sauvignon Blanc glass.

  • Petrol notes and a hint of ocean breeze on the nose. This wine is driven by its minerality. Great acidity, while some of the tropical fruit notes may be fading, this is still a good wine. Need to drink my other bottles this year though.

  • Consistent with previous note. Love the minerality. Agree it is picking up a petrol reisling note. Holding up well. And great with food (Thai red curry chicken tonight).

  • Time to drink up. Still has the tropical fruit but fading a bit. A touch of Riesling like petrol. Still enjoyable but not as much as 1-2 years ago.

(Casa Marín Sauvignon Blanc Cipreses Vineyard, San Antonio Valley) Intense aromas of pink grapefruit, lime, and asparagus are followed by a full-bodied palate with great fruit intensity. The long, long finish is marked by distinct minerality and vibrant acidity. A world-class Sauvignon Blanc that should peak in three to five years. Appellation: San Antonio Valley
