marty and sandy brought this to dinner at ama ristorante. no formal notes. very robust style. i can see why marty likes it so much. the wine has matured significantly since last taste on 8/11/2013. at this point i would recommend drinking soon. i have come to learn that pinot is well suited to the terroir of sta. rita hills. this winery benefits particularly from the climate as it is located close to the pacific ocean.

Very nice style. Not typical big for the area. Beautiful nose of strawberry, raspberry, French herbs, a bit of hay. Fantastically fresh and vibrant at this stage. Day 2 offers the same freshness with a beautiful spice and rose petal nose. Almost tropical. Cool cranberry and fresh blue fruit and pretty raspberry. Bottle had a long cork. Awesome wine

Medium in garnet color, with aromas of cherries and rose petal. Palate shows typical Sta. Rita aromas, particularly of this great vineyard. Medium in body, but lots of complexity with flavors of Bing cherry, a touch of wild strawberry, seashell and a nice acidic backbone. Drinking well now, but will improve for quite a while in the cellar.

Medium bodied, well structured, drinking perfectly right now, but should be good for a few more years. Reminds me of David Bruce's best efforts.
