As usual Rhys starts to really sing with a bit of age, although this could use 3-4 more years to really hit it's stride. Dark fruit, earthy, as DCWino suggested there is definitely a hint of stem but it's not bothersome. Very good mix of Cali Pinot characteristics and Burgundian. I still feel many experienced tasters would be fooled on where this wine is from, at least not from California.
