Still very good, but feels like we missed peak. Dark ruby red color. Nose: light red fruit, smoke and licorice. Flavors: Red fruit - raspberry and strawberry, smokey cedar, licorice with tight tannins. Brightens with more ripe raspberry and black pepper on finish. Opens up significantly over time.

Stored at 62° and hasn't been moved since purchasing. Enjoyed the first glass by itself, second was paired with a bacon wrapped filet.
NOSE: Very strong chocolate, blackberry, pepper, and a hint of mint/eucalyptus.
TASTE: For zinfandel this age it is still surprisingly powerful! Mouth coating with very smooth tannins, slightly spicy, with berries and chocolate, and a nice smooth finish.
I'm glad I waited on opening this one up because I can imagine the tannins being overpowering if it were a lot younger. Very easy drinking, almost elegant, for a napa zin.

Last bottle. Drank beautifully. Have had a love/hate relationship with this wine. At times the high alcohol was a turn-off. Last bottle had none of the alcohol hear from some of the previous bottles. Long lingering finish. Something there besides the dark fruits from previous notes. Maybe raspberry.
