Last bottle of this and man what a QPR at $5!! This one was lightly corked, but I was able to alleviate it with the cellophane trick (2nd wine in two days for this). Really deep golden color to this one. Aromas of nutty/oxidized components, along with honey, herbs, and vanilla. Medium body, acid, and finish, and flavors of yellow apple, peach, honeycomb, caramel, and mineral, and a viscous, luscious texture. Killer value here. Hope I see this one again.

Having this again tonight, I think the combination of my note from Jan. '13, and Periko's from a year later, sums this wine up pretty accurately. It's true that this isn't for everyone, but if you like a bit of nutty oxidation, along with some herbs, oak and downplayed fruit, then this will be enjoyable for you. I'm showing $5 paid (I believe Last Bottle), which is insane QPR for this. 88-89, but won't rescore for the official tally.

Drank over two days. It has a dark golden color and shows potent sherry-like aromas, oxidation, fennel and some old wood. Powerful and medium bodied on palate, it's mineral with mature white fruit. May not be for everyone but this is a very good white rioja and an excellent food wine. Drink now-2016

Deep golden color with some browning at the edges. Nutty, rubbery nose with yellow apple as well. Medium to full bodied, with body seeming to gain with air, and an oily, viscous mouth feel. Bright acidity and lemon, mineral, and hazelnut flavors. Medium+ finish with lingering acid and mineral. Good weeknight white for seafood and lighter dishes.

Artadi tasting. The son of the producer came over to join us. (@ WB): In the bouquet yellow fruits and some vanilla. Same on the palate with some bitterness from the oak. Clean and pleasant wine.
