Booze sales tasting. I found this extremely impressive given the price. Nose was sweet and direct, with dark berries and plum. Same thing on the palate, fruity and pleasant, with just a hint of meatiness. Dense without being overly jammy. Nice mouthfeel in fact, rather plush, with sufficient acidity providing a good backbone. Great quaffing wine.

I went in looking for the 2004 after reading/watching the review on WLTV...and there was a 2003 mixed in with the 2004's...so I bought the '03 with the intentions of comparing it to the '04 later.
Popped the cork and pored a glass and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Little swirl...and I loved the nose. Nice fruit...some of that jammy scents mixed with hot electrical component (in a good way) with a tad of that sweet heart smell.
Taste...honestly I like the nose better than the pallet. Right off it hit the top of my pallet..almost into my nose! Spicy notes with fruit and some mild acidity...a little oak...nice smooth texture though.
I look forward to seeing how it tastes tonight...and then compare it to the 2004!

Very mature but still with body. It has peaked but still delightful.

Nice. Enjoyed with a tomato based pasta sauce. The acidity of the wine worked well with it.
