Deep colour. Recessed nose soon after decanting but it opened with time and showed good fruit and spice. The fruit on the palate seemed very sweet at first with dusty tannins but the wine settled and revealed spice and mainly damson, plum and black cherry fruit. Good length and balance. It definitely needs time to settle - it was a much better wine after a couple of hours. After 24h, the spice was more subtle and the wine was softer and full of sweet, rich dark fruits with damson and cherry. Good structure and complexity. Very long. Typical Malbec character but difficult to disentangle the minor grapes (not a criticism). Excellent wine with life ahead of it (Clos usually develops over at least a decade IMO).
Deep dark purple, dark ruby on the edges, giving away the development of the wine. Prune, cherry, dark forrest fruit, earthiness, vanilla, baking spices on the nose. Dark cherry and dark red fruits on the palate, surprising but pleasant bit of sweetness, vanilla chocolately notes, bit of underbush or garrigue, smooth tannins. Very pleasant indeed! This wine is at the top of its game now, won't improve anymore.
This wine developed a lot over the past 3 years! Very smooth tannins, sweet oak completely integrated, mostly blackberry fruit, and kind of balanced. Very ready to drink and I don't think this will improve.
