Took a while to open up and this bottle's provenance was known to have not been ideal. Complex, no faults, still fresh, even youthful. I suspect this bottle would have revealed a masterpiece had it been stored better.

A bit out of balance. Old Syrah nose, fruit present but greatly faded. Finish clipped. Still managed to rouse itself for a last hurrah, but the window is just about shut.

Medium depth of color, looking pale but fresh, a bit cloudy. Interesting nose shows unusual, fresh, pinot-like fruit and black pepper. On the palate, this is light to the point of being almost watery, with acidity gone and moderate tannins, and some light but youthful fruit. Pleasant, medium-length finish. Remarkably clean, but fading away. Drink now.

Wednesday Night at Domaine Wine Storage (Domaine - Washington, DC): Drank from a magnum. This wine deserves time alone to fully appreciate the aged nuances. For an aged Cali syrah, it shows a lot of complexity. Earthy, meaty and aged, but still showing dusty tannins. Really unique flavors, but I'd like a bit more fruit from this wine.
