| | Tasted by davidn on 1/20/2010 & rated 95 points: Nine years old and going strong. I brought this bottle for wackage just to see if I should dump or keep my four other bottles. Really didn't expect it to be such a wonderful bottle. A beautiful clear semi-dark straw. A minuscule bit of funk on the nose but not noticable at all in the mouth. Huge in the mouth with caramel, orange peel and dark spices. I couldn't detect any oak at all. Everyone loved it. A perfect pairing for roasted brussel sprouts, octopus and those wonderful potatos that they have at Evvia. (155 views) |

| | Tasted by borneman on 12/31/2009: Still very good, but lacking the distinctive flavors of past bottles and a little too mature for my taste. Perhaps time to drink up. (203 views) |
| | Tasted by RY on 12/10/2009 & rated 93 points: Color greenish yellow and a bit cloudy. Very ripe exotic nose. Equally ripe in the mouth but there was still enough acidity keep everything in balance. Drinking very well now for a buttery, ripe Californian char. Maybe it will hold a few more years but I don't see too much upside in waiting. (347 views) |

| | Tasted by plitton on 11/21/2009 & rated 93 points: Deep, rich, viscous and clearly top shelf Cali chard. Some straw, caramel, yeast and lemon. The bottle was in great condition and should drink well for another 2-3 years. (456 views) |
| | Tasted by JDRFoster on 11/6/2009 & rated 91 points: A little more straw, lemon oil, and nuttiness a year later. Still drinking beautifully. (583 views) |

| | Tasted by JBVino on 6/13/2009: For those that enjoy aged chardonnay, this is on the down hill side but still provides pleasure. Nonetheless would drink up. (991 views) |

| | Tasted by DoubleD1969 on 5/8/2009 & rated 90 points: This was one of two whites that was drunk at a wine dinner. Most of the people were wine novices and actually preferred a 2007 chardonnay that was one-third the cost. Overall, I liked the wine but probably won't be buying any more. This was my third experience with Kistler this year, and the previous two bottles were madeirized. This wine was thankfully not defective, but it does make me wonder on its ageability. It showed a deeper shade of yellow that suggests some age. Nose was of fresh cut pineapple and buttered popcorn. Pineapple, honey, oakey flavors on the palate. Medium- to full-bodied wine. Tasted April 24, 2009 at an offline.
Opened and served immediately. Yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of creme, nutmeg, parrafin and a mix of yellow fruits. Flavors of pears, apples, creme and a bit of orange on the lingering palate. Medium acidity, medium to full body. Drink over the shorter to maybe medium term. My last bottle. (1044 views) |
| | Tasted by lebo on 4/18/2009 & rated 93 points: Very nice golden straw color. Nose of caramel popcorn, butter & lemongrass. Pallet of butterscotch, limestone. Quite a firm acidic backbone, but it needs it to offset the other components. Definitely a "big" chard, with lots of mouth pucker / tannic. Almost has a mouthfeel of a young CA Cab with lots of tannin. Needs some food to smooth it out, but a very interesting and fun wine to drink. (1041 views) |
| | Tasted by borneman on 4/5/2009 & rated 95 points: Smokey, burnt popcorn, brown-butter nose explodes with flavor on the palate. Buttered popcorn, banana, lemon among other flavors changing over the hour or so. Just amazing stuff. Super-long finish. (1109 views) |
| | Tasted by borneman on 2/28/2009 & rated 94 points: Earthy nose at first reticent, changed over time. Pineapple upside down cake and lemon curd flavors. Fresh acidity. Well-integrated oak. Super-long finish. (1135 views) |
| | Tasted by wineaux2 on 2/21/2009 & rated 92 points: This Kistler was drinking like a youngster. The palate was full of fresh, vibrant citrus and hints of green fruit flavors. Full body mouth feel without any heaviness was accompanied with a touch of classic Kistler oiliness. The wine had amazing acidity and paired great with salad. Too easy to drink and it went very fast. | | Tasted by budman on 7/19/2008 & rated 92 points: Good mature Kistler. Citrus, wet stones, and that oily mouthfeel that I like. (1374 views) |
| | Tasted by Anonymous on 7/11/2008 & rated 94 points: SLightly ethereal, slightly penetrating nose. Explosive mouth of rich orange fruit and honey structure structure structure. Seems like less citrus than I remember. Extended length of chlaky tropical fruit. The length is a bit much (still) but that over-the-top ness is intriguing and worthwhile in the mouth. (1536 views) |
